Harristown State High School

Uniform and Dress Code PDF Print E-mail
The school uniform gives a sense of identity and cohesion and promotes pride in the achievements of our students. The uniform is predominantly in the school’s colours of blue and brown, and students are expected to wear it neatly and correctly.

There are two components of the uniform - the dress uniform and the sports uniform.
Every student is expected to have at least one set of each of the dress and the sports uniform. It is expected that students will wear the dress uniform to all official school outings and functions. Students are not to mix the dress and the sports uniform.
Most items are available from the school’s P&C Shop.

DRESS CODE
Harristown State High School is a uniform school. This is endorsed by the Parents’ & Citizens’ Association and School community. There are two key factors in this policy—appearance, and safety and health.
Students who comply with the guidelines help their individual image and the collective image of the school, and are demonstrating regard for their own health and safety and the health and safety of others. Students who choose not to comply with the guidelines are demonstrating a lack of respect for school guidelines and the health and safety of self and others, and as such are in breach of the school’s Code of Behaviour.
Students must wear full dress uniform (not sports uniform) on all excursions and official functions, unless they are otherwise informed on the excursion letter by the Head of Department.

UNIFORM GUIDELINES
1. Students who are out of uniform must bring a note from their parents to school.
2. Students are to obtain an Incorrect Uniform Identification note from their House Pastoral Coordinator prior to attending form class. The Incorrect Identification Uniform note is signed and dated by the House Pastoral Year Coordinator. Students must keep this note on them at all times and be able to present it to school personnel on request.
