Harristown State High School

Welcome to Harristown High School
As the 2009 school captains, it gives us great pleasure to introduce you to our school - Harristown State High School - one of the finest in the state.

Throughout our time at Harristown, we have been bombarded with numerous opportunities which have both helped us to develop valuable life skills and shaped who we are today, not to mention the amount of fun we have had along the way. Harristown High has so much to offer, whether it is the opportunity to study and compete in a wide range of sports or the chance to become involved in the arts - dance, drama, visual art or music.

The school offers a wide range of extra-curricular and community involvement activities, such as the Rock Eisteddfod and the Relay for Life. Participation in these can lead to receiving extra credit awards at the annual speech night, one of the highlights of the school year.

Life at Harristown High really is something else. Our school spirit, pride and strong sense of belonging sets us apart from other schools and continues to grow.

The school holds high expectations in regard to behaviour levels, dress codes and assessment. It is our belief that these high standards are of benefit to the school and all those within it, as most importantly, they assist in maintaining Harristown’s positive reputation in the community.

Our uniforms are perhaps most significant in cultivating and maintaining a strong sense of belonging and as the school captains, we have been able to see first-hand how this enhances our school.

Finally we hope that your time at Harristown becomes nothing less than the time of your life. If you take advantage of every opportunity you are given, there is no way the journey through high school and to your future can be anything else.

The next few years are the most important years of your life, so the advice we can give is to enjoy them, meet as many people as you can, make new friends and most of all have fun along the way.

Welcome to some of the most memorable years of your life!

Shannan Casey and Byron Rose-Kelly (School Captains 2009), Grace Laundon and Chris Barnes (School Vice-Captains 2009)
