To be the school where everyone else wishes to be. Our goal this year is to be ‘The School of Choice’.

Our school provides unlimited opportunities, portrays tremendous PRIDE, coinciding with our school values: Participation, Relationships, Integrity, Diligence and Enthusiasm, as well as demonstrates our distinctive Hawk Spirit. All of these aspects outline and guide the fantastic learning experiences presented here at Harristown State High School.

The opportunities available to our students here are endless. Not only do we excel in academics, with the Accelerated Academic Academy, but also on the sporting field, as well as on the stage. We provide unsurpassed sporting specialisation opportunities in a range of sports including Soccer, Rugby, Basketball and Volleyball. We provide opportunities to get involved in cultural events, shine in drama productions, as well as star in our champion Rock Eisteddfod team! No matter what discipline a student is interested in, we have a program that will fulfil their wants and provide them with the opportunity to exceed their own expectations.

Another defining factor is our Hawk Spirit. Many times we are asked to describe what this is, but it is not a ‘thing’. It simply cannot be described. It is more like an aura, a connection. It is what brings us together, as a community. Not only does it bond us as a school community, but our famous Hawk Spirit reaches out into all corners of Toowoomba.

This year, the Gold Leaders’ aim is to further extend our community connections by inviting community members into our school to experience what we have to offer first hand. We have a number of exciting events up our sleeves, so keep your eyes peeled, this year - Harristown State High School is in for the trip of a life time, and we hope you will join in with us in pursuing our goal of becoming the ‘School of Choice’.
